I am a common-law, left-leaning, free-market, pro-black, qualitative (though not afraid of maths and statistics), comparative-historical, Aristotellian (though deeply influenced by Kant) post-classical, libertarian (flexible) methodologically-individualist sociologist.
I am a PhD student at the University of Delaware, although I have a full-time job working with children who suffer from major Axis I diagnoses with Youth Consultation Services in Southern, NJ. In addition, I provide relationship enhancement therapy – or therapy for couples. I have an MA in Sociology and an MSW – received from the University of Delaware and Rutgers University, respectively. I have a BA in economics and sociology from Rowan University. I live with my wife and children in Southern New Jersey.
My areas of interest include child welfare, marriage and family, public opinion, the philosophy of the social sciences, the history of ideas, blacks in the classical liberal tradition, 19th and early 20th century United States (particularly the generation preceding the manumission of black slaves, the generation subsequent to the manumission of black slaves, Booker T. Washington, and the emergence of black colleges), rational choice theory, the sociology of Max Weber, and Austrian economics.
