David Pontoppidan

David Pontoppidan is a 23 year old graduate student of sociology who is finishing his MA at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, specializing in organizational sociology, cultural sociology and the nature of political discourse.

His interests include classical sociology, cultural sociology, entrepreneurship, the nature of the firm, globalization, organizational sociology, immigration, the rise of early capitalism, cross fields between social science and cognitive science, urban poverty and crime and the emergence of the modern state.

Simultaneous to studying, David has been working full-time in various think tanks where he has done research on immigration, criminology, environmental issues and helped organize +20 large-scale conferences with an academic focus and taught in several settings including with funds from the Danish Ministry of Environmental Affairs and the Danish Foreign Ministry. He is currently taking a short sabbatical from the blog as he spends day and night applying for a Ph.D. for next fall.
